Inconel690

Inconel 690 alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress corrosion cracking, and is mainly used as a heat transfer tube material for steam generators in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. Materials for heat transfer tubes for steam generators in PWR nuclear power plants have gone through a history of development, including 304 austenitic stainless steel, Inconel 600 alloy, 800 alloy and Inconel 690 alloy. Corrosion failure studies in service with Inconel 600 alloys have shown that intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress corrosion cracking are major problems. Inconel 690 alloy is used as a heat transfer tube material for steam generators in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, and there have been no reports of breakage since it was put into use in the 90s of the last century.
