Monel 400 (UNS N04400, NCu30) is a high-strength single-phase solid solution alloy. It is a widely used corrosion-resistant alloy with good overall performance. This alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas environments, as well as in hot concentrated alkaline solutions. Additionally, it is resistant to corrosion from neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmosphere, and organic compounds. An important characteristic of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good machinability.

Monel 400 (UNS N04400, NCu30) has a microstructure of high-strength single-phase solid solution, which is a widely used corrosion-resistant alloy with good comprehensive performance.
This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas media, and also exhibits good resistance to hot concentrated alkaline solutions.
At the same time, it is resistant to corrosion from neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks, and it has good machinability.
This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and their derivatives. It also has better corrosion resistance in seawater compared to copper-based alloys.
▲ Acid medium: M400 is corrosion-resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%. M400 is one of the very few important materials that can withstand hydrofluoric acid.
▲ Water corrosion: M400 alloy exhibits not only excellent corrosion resistance in most water corrosion situations but also very few occurrences of pitting and stress corrosion, with a corrosion rate of less than 0.25mm/a.
▲ High-temperature corrosion: M400 generally operates continuously in air at high temperatures around 600℃, and in high-temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than.
▲ Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel 400 alloy, it can withstand corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammonia conditions below 585℃.
