This alloy has the following characteristics:
Hastelloy C22 alloy is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy that has better overall corrosion resistance than other existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, including
Hastelloy C276, C4 alloys, and 625 alloys. Hastelloy C22 alloy has good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
It has excellent resistance to oxidizing media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, or mixed acids containing chloride ions. At the same time,
Hastelloy C22 alloy also has ideal resistance to reducing and oxidizing environments encountered during processing. Relying on this versatile performance, it can
be used in some challenging environments or in various production purpose factories. Hastelloy C22 alloy has exceptional resistance to various chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances such as ferric chloride, cupric chloride, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions (organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater, and saline solutions.
Hastelloy C22 alloy has the ability to resist the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone during welding, allowing it to adapt to many chemical process applications even in a welded state.
Hastelloy C-22's metallographic structure:
Hastelloy C22 has a face-centered cubic lattice structure.
Corrosion resistance of Hastelloy C-22:
Hastelloy C22 alloy is suitable for various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The higher molybdenum and chromium content enables the alloy to resist the corrosion of chloride ions.
The tungsten element further enhances its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C22 is one of the few materials that can withstand the corrosion of moist chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions, and this alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of chloride salt solutions (such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride).
Applications of Hastelloy C-22 include:
Hastelloy C22 alloy has been widely used in the chemical and petrochemical fields, such as in components and catalytic systems that come into contact with chlorinated organic substances.
This material is particularly suitable for use in high-temperature environments with impurities in inorganic acids and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid) and seawater corrosion environments.
Other application areas of Hastelloy C-22:
Hastelloy C22合金在化工和石化领域得到了广泛的应用,如应用在接触含氯化物有机物的元件和催化系统
中。这种材料尤其适合在高温、混有杂质的无机酸和有机酸(如甲酸和乙酸)、海水腐蚀环境中使用。
